Three men accused of belonging to terrorist group, Boko Haram have been found guilty and sentenced to a total of 75 years imprisonment.
Ali Mohammed, Adamu Karumi and Ibrahim Usman are each expected to spend twenty-five years in prison for participating in acts of terrorism, Leadership Newspaper reports.
The sentence was passed down yesterday, September 30, 2014 by the Federal High Court in Lagos and will also include hard labour for the convicts.
The accused persons were said to have been caught in possession of three packets of explosive construction pipes, 15 detonators, and 11 AK47 rifles with 30 rounds of live ammunitions.
17 suspects were initially charged for conspiracy to commit terrorism, illegal possession of firearms, and being members of a proscribed organization to court but the number was reduced after the case against 13 suspects was withdrawn.
