Spiritual Battle Deadly Snakes Chase Boko Haram Members Out Of Sambisa Forest

God is gradually taking over the fight against Boko Haram as snakes are now chasing the deadly gang out of their hideouts.

The saying that God fights for the helpless is slowly playing itself out in the deadly Sambisa Forest, Borno State, hideout of the insurgent sect, Boko Haram, as reports have emerged that some of their members are now fleeing the owing to the fact that deadly snakes have been attacking them as well as some of them suffering spiritual attacks.

This information was gleaned from two members of the Islamic militant sect who were arrested by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force.

The Daily Post newspapers quoted one of the Boko Haram members, Kolo Mustapha,  as saying:

«Most of us are fleeing because there are too many snakes now in the forest; once they bite, they disappeared and the victims do not last for 24 hours.

«We were told that the people of Chibok local government are the ones turning into snake and attacking us in the forest.

He was also quoted as saying that some of their leaders have escaped to Cameroon because they are known to the Nigerian authorities and could be easily identified.

According to him, those of them who lived all their lives in Maiduguri have nowhere to go but to return to the town.

«We are pleading with them to spare our lives, we were forced into the sect, but we know that it is not the right way.

«I have never killed anyone, but my friend here has killed people.

The other member, Umar Abor, according to the paper, said Kolo Mustapha was lying as all of them had participated in all heinous acts by the sect in the past.

«We have fought together since 2010. We have fought in Marte, Bama, Buni Yadima and Gwoza.

«We were not in Chibok, we have not seen the girls but we heard about it. Our leaders have been talking about it and we have been following all news from the radio.

«We decided to flee when almost all our comrades are leaving the Sambisa because of constant attacks by snakes, which we were told was as a result of the Chibok girls abducted.

«They (our leaders) told us that it was the people of Chibok that are hunting us through diabolical means in the form of snakes. We were in the forest in 2010 and 2011; we left and came back last year but we have never experienced snakes as this year.

«It is believed that the Chibok people are using "juju" to pursue us because of their children.

Still on the Loose! Boko Haram Kills 26 in Borno Millitary Post Attack

Members of the Boko Haram sect on Tuesday attacked a military post in Borno State.

According to Premium Times, About 26 persons, comprising of 21 soldiers and five villagers, were killed on Tuesday night after members of the Boko Haram attacked a military post near Damboa town of Borno State.

A solder that was able to escape, gave his account of the incident.

"They came in their dozen driving over ten trucks and several motorcycles; we were at our normal duty post in Bulabulin-Ngaura Village. None of us unexpected anything; the attack was a terrible one; as I am talking to you now I have been told that some of my colleagues have been taken away," said the soldier.

A 31 year old transgender woman has been found burned to death at Ford Myers, Florida and police are yet to find out what led to her death.

The death of Yaz'min Shancez has been described by Fort Myers authorities as homicide but not as a hate crime.

Police Lieutenant Jay Rodiguez tells Naples News that there are no indication if she was been killed because she was a transgender but "we are investigating as we would any other homicide."

Police reports say Shancez' dead body was discovered behind a garbage container on a dead end, private road in an industrial part of Fort Myers.

Her family has placed flowers and balloons at the crime scene.

According to Nigeria's Queen of Gossips, (in a positive way, that is), Stella Dimoko-Korsus, the purported 'marriage' of Nollywood actress, Uche Ogbodo, has crashed like a pack of badly arranged cards.

There was news all over that Uche Ogbodo had, on Saturday, October 5, 2013, done her quiet traditional marriage to a Norway based ex-Nigerian footballer, Ato.

But shortly after the marriage, came a mirage of dirty secrets being bandied about the two of them bordering on infidelity and other forms of unfaithfulness.

Stella called up Uche who is heavily pregnant and is presently in America to deliver her baby, and they spoke. Uche allegedly accepted that the 'marriage' has broken down irretrievably.

«Hello Uche, I have a few quick questions for you. I heard your barely a year old marriage has crashed. Is this true?

«Well, that may be true but what isn't true is that it wasn't really marriage yet because it wasn't fully formalised; we were still in the process of formalising it when all hell broke loose. So I was merely engaged to be married to Ato Ubby.   

«It was just an introduction? Why didn't you clear that impression all this while?

«I just felt there was no need to do so because the wedding plans was to follow shortly. Unfortunately, it didn't because things didn't work out the way it should. I walked into a no-win situation.

«What happened?

«This is really a hard question to answer, but all I can say is that barely one month into the engagement and in the process of planning a formal wedding, I realised I had made the greatest mistake of my life. The foundation of the union was based on lies and deceit... shocking lies. We had been dating for a almost year and I thought I knew it all but nothing prepared me for what unfolded.

«Is he married already?

«No, he isn't married to anyone else

«You got pregnant in the process?

«On the verge of trying to salvage the situation, I found out I was expecting a child. I kept quiet to the rumours making the rounds because I was left with the option of thinking for my child and trying to salvage a dead situation but now, I have finally made up my mind to break off the engagement and my reasons are irreconcilable.

«Uche, so you are saying you never got married and the engagement is off?

«I just want to be left alone to take care of my child. Stella, I wasn't married; I was engaged to be married but as things stand now, the engagement is officially broken due to irreconcilable differences and since I am having my baby soon, my doctors has advised me to rest as my health and that of my baby is the most important thing right now.

«Yes, I am the one walking out on the pack of lies. I am not going to pretend because I want to be married. I am not desperate and I would rather swallow my pride and accept I made a big mistake than forge ahead in lies. «I am sorry if keeping quiet misled people into my status was already married. The excitement of looking forward to birthing my child kinda numbs the shock and disappointment but I will be fine.

«Exactly, and all this while, we have been trying to settle the issues, that's probably how you got hear of it.

According to Punch Newspaper, the Lagos State Police Command paraded the 64-years-old Azeez, who is from Oyo State and is married to three wives and five children, as he confessed to the heinous crime.

This is the reason the Babalawo gave for murdering the woman and her daughter:

«I have been a trado-medical doctor for about 30 years, but I knew Angela over five years ago. She initially came to me for protection from family attacks.

«One of her friends called Lizzy introduced her to me. The relationship began to grow, and she kept patronising me for one thing or the other.

«Then, about three years ago, she mentioned her barrenness problem, adding that the daughter that was with her was adopted. I was shocked.

«But when she told me her age, I told her it was impossible to make her pregnant. But she insisted that prophets in the churches she went had assured her she would get pregnant.

«I did the normal concoction for her, but it didn't work because of her age. But I collected the money (N9 million) because I knew if I did not, she would go to where they would collect it.

«After some months without result, she came to my place to complain. She then demanded a refund, but I told her that I could not repay it. She then began to threaten me. Within a month, I tried to repay N2.5m. On that fateful week, she came back for the remaining N6.5m.

«It was Saturday, May 17. She came with her daughter and insisted that she wanted her balance. She said as a retired customs officer, she could kill me if I didn't pay back the money.

«Then I thought, I must kill this woman before she killed me. The hole at the back of my house was not built for killing. It was dug for drainage during rainfall. I placed a mat and a white cloth on the pit and called her to follow me.

«After we talked, we moved with her daughter to the place. I said she should kneel down on the mat with her daughter. She did so and fell into the pit with her daughter. The operation was successful because no member of my family was around in the house.

«I then began to cover the pit up with sand. I poured in roughly 50 buckets of sand. The following day, I got two bricklayers to cement the portion. But I had first taken out the belongings she brought.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Umar Manko, stated that the police had concluded their investigations on the case, adding that the native doctor was going to be charged to court for murder.

The woman and her daughter were reported missing on May 10 at the Oko Oba Police Division by the family.

«Azeez was eventually arrested through a tracking device installed on the victim's Toyota Camry. Azeez, an herbalist, had hypnotized the woman for a long time.

«He had taken over N200 million from her both in cash and property. We discovered he cleverly constructed a well in his house, lured the woman with her daughter into the room, and buried them alive.

«We were able to recover the decomposed bodies of the victims from the well. We have finished our investigations, and he will be charged to court for murder. We will leave the rest to be decided by the court.

According to reports, 'Pastor' Ngwu has put no less than 20 female members in the family way and actually married five of them.

Going by reports, the spokesman of the Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, DSP, disclosed that the randy pastor claims to be obeying prophetic/spiritual injunction to do the will of God, which is to impregnate any one chosen and revealed by the Holy Spirit, irrespective of whether the woman is married or not.

When the woman is delivered of the baby, the child remains in the ministry with the mother for life.

Amaraizu added that:

«Vineyard Ministry of the Holy Trinity, located at Umudikwere, Ihe/Owere Nsukka in Enugu, was not known until DSP Gloria Udoka and her operatives from the Anti-Child Trafficking unit of the state criminal and investigation department, stormed the place based on the complaint they received from the wife of the Pastor, Veronica Ngwu, bordering on sexual abuse of people in the ministry, which has brought about indiscriminate pregnancy among married and single women in the ministry.

According to Veronica, her husband used to be a well known catechist in Nsukka Catholic.

To add spice to his randy behaviour, 'Pastor' Timothy also impregnated his wife's niece, also after 'getting instructions from God.'

Reacting to the allegations against him, the General Overseer stated that he has about five wives with thirteen children, apart from other concubines, who came as a result of the prophetic will of God.

Two of the women, who had left their husband and are now living with the General Overseer, Calista Omeje, and Assumpta Odo, confirmed that they left their husband and went to the General Overseer based on the prophetic injunction to do the will of God.

Calista revealed that she is married to her husband with ten children, and that she was impregnated by Timothy, though the baby later died.

She further disclosed that she also gave her daughter out to the General Overseer to be impregnated in fulfillment of will of God.

Assumpta Odo also confirmed the development, pointing out that she is also married with eight children and that the pastor impregnated her as well as her daughter.

Chibok Season 2? 60 Wives And Single Girls, 31 Young Men Abducted By Boko Haram

Sixty married and single women and thirty-one young men have been reportedly abducted by suspected Boko Haram insurgents.

According to an All Africa report, quoting a Leadership newspaper source, the abductees were taken in separate raids between Thursday 19th and Sunday 22nd of June 2014 in a village called Kummabza, a farming community not more than 25km away from Lassa town in Askira-Uba local government area of Borno State.

The source, Aji Khalil, a member of a vigilante group in the area said the gunmen abducted a total of 91 people in the raids.

"Some suspected Boko Haram members invaded Kumanza, Yaga and Dagu villages and kidnapped 91 persons.

"More than 60 married women and young girls were kidnapped while the rest 31 young men were forcefully taken away by Boko Haram terrorists. Four villagers who tried to escape were shot dead on the spot" Khali said on phone today" Khalil said.

The All Africa report said the Borno State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Gideon Jubrin, said the police have not received reports of the purported abduction but promised to investigate the matter.

"Honestly the command has not received any of such report concerning the abduction of women or girls; but we will still investigate and if we get anything, we will get across to you," Jubrin said.

It will be recalled that Boko Haram insurgents are still holding on to nearly 300 teenage schoolgirls abducted from their school in Borno since April.

The Nigerian government has been widely criticised for failing to secure the release whom the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Shekau, boasted to have converted to Islam.

According to reports, Meriam Yahya Ibrahim has again been apprehended, alongside her husband, Daniel Wani at an airport in Khartoum (Sudan's capital) today, June 24.

It's still unclear why the couple has been arrested but the 27 year old was recently released from prison yesterday after been forced to give birth in a Sudanese jail after her arrest for apostasy.

According to CNN, the couple were taken by the police while trying to leave Sudan and the reason for their arrest weren't immediately available.

Suya Consumption Could Lead To Cancer - Nutrition Professor

If reports are anything to go by, popular Nigerian snack, Suya could infact be a cancer-causing agent.

This is according to Professor of Nutrition and Director of Academic Planning at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State - Ignatius Onimawo as reported by Vanguard newspaper.

According to the good professor, the process in which suya is prepared causes the formation of  toxic compounds known as Heterocyclic Amines, which are carcinogenic compounds; that is cancer causing compounds.

In his words:

«"During preparation of suya, the  meat is cooked over an open fire, and oils from the meat undergo complex chemical reactions that produce toxins that are carcinogenic (cancer-causing) in nature.

Reports say a car driven by a paparazzo was chasing the Escalade in which Bieber was a passenger before finally hitting them.

According to TMZ, the Escalade was going down Canon Drive at a fast clip, trying to lose the photographer, when a BMW was pulling out of a parking structure near Bouchon restaurant.  An eyewitness claims the BMW misjudged the speed of the Escalade and smashed into it.

Bieber reportedly almost immediately got out of the SUV and into another car and left the scene.

Debunking insinuations that she uses steroids or some kind of supplement, Chichi took time to recount how she got a body that even men will get jealous of.

«So a follower just asked if I'm on male hormones/testosterone plus I get negative comments about being on steroids all the time.

«So I'm gonna address this. I'm not mad neither do I take it the wrong way cos I understand why it's unbelievable that a female can have it like that but here is the truth, if y'all really pay attention you would know what I do for a living.

«Playing soccer on a professional level is something taken seriously, which means the rules that applies for the highest sports out there on doping applies for us too which means we are dope tested as players by local federations and FIFA.

«I know I owe nobody no explanation but it's always good to feed people's curiosity so they can move on and that's what I'm doing. I barely use them so called supplements cos I only wanna give credit to hard work, dedication, persistence and my genes.

«I have my career to thank cos it'd be impossible for some to believe I'm natural but I'm a living proof that muscles can be gained naturally if you work for it.

«I'm a woman with two boobs and no balls in between my legs; I'm just created special and that's why I refuse to fit in or live by society standards.

«I'm a mystery to some but that's ok, the world would be boring if we all looked alike, so accept and respect each other's differences cos that's the only way we can live in peace and harmony.

«Embrace your differences, you are not a mistake but specially made so please, DO NOT allow people bully you into felling that you are not good enough or worthy.

Leonardo DiCaprio gets at the centre of a recent Hollywood suicide of man who shot himself to death just weeks after his wife, "Deal Or No Deal" suitcase model, Katie Clearly was photographed flirting with the actor in a nightclub.

According to law enforcement officers, Andrew Stern shot himself in the head on Sunday [June 22] while he was at a shooting range in the San Fernando Valley.

The 40-year-old businessman was married to Katie - who was also a contestant on "America's Next Top Model."  Katie was photographed in Cannes Festival last month with Leo and the two seemed tight. There are also photos of Katie in Cannes with "Entourage" star Adrian Grenier.

People told officers after the suicide, including Katie, that among other things, Andrew was suffering significant stress over marital problems and had a history of depression and some financial issues.

According to TMZ, Katie told law enforcement she and Andrew  - who appeared on "Millionaire Matchmaker" before he got together with Cleary - were in the process of getting divorced.

However, a close to source to DiCaprio claims Katie and the actor never hooked up and he left the club with his GF Toni Garrn.

Millions of Nigerians the world over are still in shock and dismay as Nigeria's largest online indigenous forum, Nairaland.com, has gone offline, disappearing from the internet without an explanation or any reason offered.

Nairaland which is home to over 1,229,600 registered accounts (April 2014), and is ranked as the 7th most visited site in Nigeria (and the most visited indigenous site) according to Alexa.com, went offline on Sunday, 22 June 2014, leaving many users and advertisers concerned, and confused.

Nigeria reportedly has over 55 million Internet users, corresponding to 32.9% of the entire population. With Nairaland having a considerable but unconfirmed number of users based in diaspora, which suggests that a maximum 3% of Nigerian Internet users are registered on Nairaland compared to Facebook's 11 million Nigerian users which corresponds to approximately 20% of the Internet population.

No official word or statement has been released to explain the down time, but the situation which is in its fourth day running, has been slightly addressed on social media platform, twitter, by its founder, Seun Osewa.

The tech guru and entrepreneur who founded the platform in March 2005, took to twitter to address the issue yesterday, 3 days after the platform first went offline with the tweet below.

 
Without any official release, Osewa's tweets which have ranged from apologetic to cryptic and poetic have become more defeatist, giving no explanation about the cause of the Nairaland's downtime.

 
But late yesterday, Osewa revealed that the platform might take a week or more to come back into full functionality, saying that his team were going into a quiet period to attempt to bring it back into business.

 
Irrespective of its down time, Nairaland still continues to maintain its position on Alexa.

A Woman Scorned "I Dumped My Husband Because He Cheated On Me" - Juliet Ibrahim

Speculations are rife that Ghanaian Nollywood actress, Juliet Ibrahim, who announced her divorce from her husband earlier this week, did so on the grounds that her hubby cheated on her.

Ghanaian born actress, Juliet Ibrahim, who recently announced her divorce from her husband, Kwadwo Safo, has finally revealed the reason she dumped her husband who is the son of a very popular Apostle in her home country, Ghana.

Though she would have preferred keeping silent over the issue, an authoritative Ghanaian entertainment newspaper, Razz Newspaper reports that the reasons she divorced her husband and father of her child was because the man cheated on her and that was something she could not take.

The paper did some investigations into the reasons for the divorce and allegedly spoke to some of Juliet's close friends who opened up on the reason for the divorce.

This is how the newspaper put it:

«According to sources very close to the actress, Juliet claims that the marriage was a mistake that shouldn't have happened. She said that she got involved with Kwadwo Safo briefly and in the course of the friendship, she got pregnant. The unplanned pregnancy is what caused Kwadwo to marry her.

«The actress shockingly claims that Kwadwo Safo's family did not support the marriage from the onset. The family of her husband failed to show up for the marriage ceremony and have openly showed their disapproval and lack of support for the marriage.

«Juliet also said that the marriage ended over a year and half ago and another reason for the break up was that Kwadwo Safo got involved with another lady who was as fair as she (Juliet) and competed for the love and attention of her husband.

«The source claims that Juliet was overly angry at her husband because the fair complexion of the said lady was as a result of bleaching; so, she wondered why her husband would go in for somebody like that.

«In another related twist, Juliet is said to have been in a serious relationship with Nigerian model/actor IK Ogbonna right after her marriage collapsed. She spends most of her time in Nigeria and she is reported to have spent quality time with IK. The model even featured in Juliet Ibrahim's music video to her Lukewarm single released months ago.

«Juliet and IK broke up recently and IK is reported to have used his social media page to plead to the actress for forgiveness and seeking a comeback.

Just In Bomb Blast In School Of Hygiene Kano Leaves Several Dead

Several are feared dead following a bomb blast which occurred at the Kano School of Health Technology

Kano has been the subject of several attacks in the last couple of weeks
Many are feared dead after a bomb blast rocked Kano at about 2pm this afternoon.

Vanguard newspaper reports that the blast went off in the premises of the Kano School of Health Technology located along Gida Murtala–B UK Road.

Reports further state that Kano Police spokesman, Magaji Magia confirmed the blast which appears to have occurred from a parking lot next to the provost's office of the School of Hygiene.

Details of the blast remain sketchy at this point but several are feared to be dead as the blast occurred while the school was in session.

Kano has been a point of attack by Boko Haram insurgents in the last couple of weeks as several other blasts have occurred in the recent past leaving many dead and many more injured.

Music fans were shocked a while back when word got out that Mr Idibia Snr was diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer. Speaking on the development, 2Face said:

«"He is fine and there is really no problem. He was diagnosed early and he has started the required  treatment. He will be fine. It is just one of those things. The family will get through it. The whole family is behind him and most importantly God is behind him too."

At Last Nigerians Get To See Faces Of Kidnapped Chibok Girls

After two gruelling and painful months of asking, Nigerians now have the opportunity of seeing the faces of the kidnapped Chibok Girls.

For those of us who have been clamouring for photographs and the names of the kidnapped female students of the Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, after about 68 days in captivity, we can now see their faces.

Though it has taken two whole months for their identities to be known, there is a great sigh of relief that their parents and loved ones now have an opportunity of seeing their faces and knowing they are still alive.

The pictures were gotten by UK Mail Online and has been used after getting permission from the Chibokj community leader and the parents of the girls who have asked that the photos be publicised for all to see.

According to Gordon Brown of Mailonline:

I was shown these pictures after visiting Nigeria this week. I met the leader of the community council in Chibok, the town from which the girls were abducted.

Slowly and with tears in his eyes, he flicked through a file in which he had recorded the names and photographs of the girls.

Not even the police and Army have managed to compile such detail he has amassed from talking to the parents of the kidnapped teenagers.

The file has 185 pages one for every girl. Each page has a photograph, and beside each passport-sized picture some stark facts — the girl's name, her school grade and the date of abduction.

For the other 19 abducted girls, he has yet to locate photographs.

The community leader and the girls' families have given permission for their names and photographs to be put into the public domain so the world is reminded of the missing girls.
