Having helped the galacticos to the la decima title, Ronaldo has been named the most marketable player by 'Repucom,' a global sports market research outfit.
The rankings were created using Repucom's Celebrity DBI tool to measure the perceptions of people in sociable age grades in its major international markets numbering 13. These markets Argentina, Brazil, China, France, Germany, India, Italy, Mexico, Russia, Spain, Turkey, the UK and the US represent the views of more than 1.5 billion people who form the benchmark rating for marketability.
The DBI combines awareness, appeal, breakthrough, trendsetter influence, trust, endorsement and aspiration of and for the celebrity as attributes to evaluate the marketability of the over 5,000 personalities Repucom monitors.
The current world footballer of the year has surpassed all comparison between him and close rival Lionel Messi in all football matters this year: Ronaldo helped Madrid to the Copa Del Rey triumph, was highest goal scorer with 31 goals in the la liga, made the Liga BBVA team XI team, emerged as the highest goal in the UEFA champions league with 17 goals and currently is ranked as the highest profitable footballer in the world.

Barca duo of Andres Iniesta and Neymar are sixth and seventh respectively. Champions league winning Spain number one Iker Casillas is 8th while the Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Thierry Henry occupy the 9th and final position.
The rank also uses the social acceptability and popularity of the selected players on social platforms, basically Facebook and Twitter. Ronaldo came top of the list with 82M Facebook fans, 26 Million Twitter followers and a global awareness of 83.87% compared to Messi's 57M Facebook fans, 2M Twitter followers and 76.07 global awareness. Thierry Henry who is 10th on the list has 16M Facebook fans, 300,000 Twitter followers and 51.62% global awareness
