Who Rules Europe?
Real Madrid coach and Athletico's square it up in the final of the Champions league tonight in Lisbon. These two coaches shall match managerial wit and techniques in order to beat one another. The two coaches who have faced each other both in the La Liga and Copa Del Rey this season are not on strange grounds. Before their match ons in the La Liga this season, they have both played in the early 90's in the Italian topflight.
Carlo Ancelotti played in the colours of AS Roma and AC Milan while Simeone played in Lazio and Inter Milan respectively and the battle for records continues in Lisbon tonight: this time not as players but as Managers in charge of two Madrid clubs in the final for the first time in the history of European football.
In comparison for the championship records, Real manager Ancelotti won four Italian Cups and one Serie A title with Roma while Athletico's coach won one league cup once, one European Super Cup and an Italian Super Cup with Lazio. Ancelotti has however won the UEFA Champions League twice.
Ancelotti has the cups, Simeone has the caps... Who has the better inclination as manager? Lisbon decides!
