Eagles In Brazil! World Cup: Mixed Feeling Over 'Prodigal Son' Osaze's Eagles Return

Nigerians have expressed mixed feelings with the return of controversial Eagles' striker Osaze Odemwingie to the national team after Head Coach Stephen Keshi named him in his provisional 30-man list for the World Cup finals in Brazil.

Osaze has been in good form since joining Stoke City lately, scoring five times in 14 appearances and Nigerians have taken the news of his return in different ways, some happy and other not.

"Osaze inclusion to Nigerian squad is a welcome development," ‏@EkmikeEkwe tweeted.

Another soccer fan ‏@skheegs wrote: "Love me some osaze, cant wait to see him at the world cup."

"True. On form, better than EVERY forward on that list. Matter of fact; I'd start Osaze, today, before Emenike..." ‏@temiokomi posted,

For ‏@Bote_StatsMan Nigeria still has a weak fire power, even with the inclusion of Osaze.

"If Nigeria lines up a front-4 of Osaze-Emenike-Ameobi-Nsofor, they all combined haven't scored up to 30goals in all comps this season," tweeted.

‏@bykx4 felt Osaze, and the captain Jeseph Yobo,  had no place in the Eagles' squad. He wrote, "I see no justification in including Yobo and Osaze in that squad. We are going to be trashed."

One or two others were however against his inclusion. To them, Ike Uche's snub, allegedly due to indiscipline should have denied Osaze a place in the squad too.

@kufremafe wrote, "Ike Uche is not on the list , because of "discipline" , then why is Osaze on the list?"

Also questioning Keshi's alleged bias in including Osaze and snubbing Ike Uche, @Femi0404 tweeted, "Stephen Keshi refused to forgive IK Uche but he considered Osaze,There is God ooo...#WC2014."

Meanwhile, the prodigal striker has expressed his delight at being recalled to the national team in the run-up to the World Cup after a 2-year journey in the wilderness.

Osaze is among the 30 players Coach Keshi has invited for Nigeria's friendly against Scotland scheduled for May 28 in London.

Do you support Osaze's inclusion?
