Biography of Vector
Born Olanrewaju David Ogunmefun on the 7 of August 1985 is a Nigerian rapper. He was born in Ogun state with four siblings who grew up with him at MaCarthy Barracks at Onikan, Lagos. He attended Command children school, Ijebu-ode grammar school, Government college Victoria Island & Saint Gregory's college After which he graduated with a bachelor's degree in Philosophy from University of Lagos in 2008 and ad his NYSC in Eastern Nigeria precisely, Abakaliki, Ebonyi state.
His interest in being a performing artist started at a young age where he had to go on stage in high school. He later went on to form a music group called 'Badder Boiz' with his friends, Krystal and Blaze; however in 2004 Krystal left the group.
The name Vector tha Viper came as a result of his knowledge from Biology class in high school, a vector being a carried and the viper specie of snake carrying a deadly sting; carrier of music or flow that is so poisonous that it spreads and takes control of the audience or listener
Best known for: He collaborated with Maye Hunta on the theme song for Endemol/MNet's BigBrother Africa Allstars held in South Africa. Vector is officially signed to YSG Entertainment. His first official singles 'kilode' and 'Mary Jane' were released in 2010. Vectors strength lay in his ability to free style has bagged several awards like best mainstream hip hop video at the Nigerian music video awards, Best Rap single and Lyricist on the roll at the Hip Hop World Awards and several others. He is the voice of a behind the Sprite commercial that aired in 2009 and co-hosted The Future Awards alongside Toke Makinwa Mayida in 2013.
The rapper whose technique has compared to the likes of American rapper Jay-Z has till date released two studio albums 'State of Surprise' in 2010 and 'The second coming' in 2012. He has worked with several Nigerian artists; Tuface, Ice Prince, DJ Jimmy Jatt, General Pype, Chuddy K, Sam Klef and Jamaican Mavado.
Personal life of Vector
He and another Nigerian artist Reminisce had a very open beef as they both released diss tracks attacking each other. He has a girlfriend Gbemisola since 2013.
