Patrick Sawyer lost his life to Ebola a little while after his sister, Princess died of the disease.

The 40-year-old is believed to have been infected after he came in contact with his sibling's blood.

According to an email, sent on 10 July, 2014, after she passed on, Sawyer knew she had died of Ebola and expressed his grief to his friends.

The mail, which was obtained by FrontPageAfrica, reads as follows:

 Princess was the only girl child of my mother's 5 children…this make it particularly difficult for us especially for my mother who lives alone in Southwest Philadelphia .

If you Facebook searched my late sister Princess, you will soon realize that death has cheated a promising young life. Thanks to you all once more for your many messages of condolence and best wishes. Good day.

53-year-old Shari Knight is said to have had sex with dogs, Spike and Jake, the who belong to her roommate Beverley Bradley.

Knight also tried to kill Miss Bradley and her brother by putting rubbing alcohol in their water and toilet bowl cleaner in their food.

The dogs involved are said to have suffered minor injuries during the incident.

Ms. Knight is in police custody and is expected to face charges of animal cruelty, and assault.

Safety Comes First: Rihanna Wins Restraining Order Against Creepy Stalker

The stalker has now been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the 26-year-old and her mansion.

Rihanna has obtained a restraining order against a man who was caught eyeing her Hollywood Hills property last week.

The singer's bodyguard caught an unidentified man hanging around her house for three hours and also claimed he was scaling a fence. The man disappeared before Police  arrived the property.

However, he was later tracked down and arrested by the authorities on an unrelated vandalism charge. He has now been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the 26-year-old and her mansion.

Despite the arrest, police aren't convinced the man even knew the house he was eyeing up belonged to Rihanna.

Meanwhile, this is not the first case of stalking Rihanna is been faced with. Another man was also charged with stalking, menacing and harassment and held without bail after writing a string of insulting notes and delivering them to the star's rented New York house last July.

Latest report says RiRi also secured a three-year restraining order against Steveland Barrow in March 2013, after he broke into the property next door, which he mistook for hers.

Robert Melanson was also ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the "Umbrella" hitmaker's house and/or, place of business, after the male trespasser was caught creeping around on her roof in back June 2013.

‘He Wasn’t Evil’: Patrick Sawyer’s Wife Opens Up Again

The Liberian's widow expressed sympathy to the family of the late Dr. Adadevoh
The wife of the late Liberian- American, Patrick Sawyer has apologized for her earlier letter and commiserated with the family of the late Dr. Ameyo Stella Adedavoh.

Decontee Sawyer earlier spoke out in defense of her husband who brought Ebola into Nigeria and infected Adadevoh leading to her death on August 19.

Speaking to Leadership, she said:

"I share the pains that the family members of the Nigerian doctor are going through. It is just a pity that Patrick had to cause this damage both in Liberia and Nigeria."

"I want to reach out to them and express how deeply saddened and sorry I am for their loss and their pain. I do apologise if my words have cost anyone who is grieving more pain. I fall on my knees and ask God for his healing power for all of those who are still infected with Ebola. I pray for all of the families whose loved ones were taken away by this merciless killer Ebola, especially those affected by Patrick's actions.

"Ebola didn't start with Patrick in Liberia, as we both know. Ebola was in Liberia from a traveller from Guinea since February of this year. The government knew about it and did nothing. Many Liberians, including me, called out to the government then to close the borders. They didn't do so until one of their own, Patrick (Sawyer), died in July.

"Many people died before Patrick and their lives were just as important. That is my frustration. Ebola didn't have to go to Nigeria, Africa's most populated country, had the Liberian government taken drastic actions sooner. I, too, have family members and friends in Nigeria, and now they are at risk because of Patrick's actions.

"In spite of my anger and disappointment with him, I don't believe that he did this with evil intent (I could be wrong). I believe his actions were that of a desperate man. And sad for everyone involved, Nigeria was closer than the U.S. This is just my take on what he could have been thinking (of course, I could be wrong).

"My regret is that I was so caught up in my own pain and frustration that I neglected to see the pain of the innocent people both in Liberia and Nigeria who are affected by Patrick's actions. For that, I am deeply sorry. The last thing I wanted to do was to cause them pain. It is a pain I know. It is a pain I don't want them to have."

Decontee also pleaded with Nigerians to consider her daughters and not curse the Sawyer name.

Nigeria was Ebola free until Patrick Sawyer arrived the country and died on July 25 at the First Consultant Hospital in Obalende.

The police in Lagos have arrested three members of a gang alleged to be dealers in human parts.

The suspects, Mustapha Murtala, Sunday Oluyeba and Adenike Olanrewaju ,were caught with 2 human skulls and were arrested after the police received a tip-off regarding their activities.

Murtala said:

 "I am a herbalist from Sagamu, Ogun State. I was introduced to human parts business by one Sunday Oluyeba three years ago.

They later came and requested a human head with an offer of N30,000. They said they wanted to use it to prepare concoction for a pregnant woman in labour .

 "Sunday brought the human head and I paid him N15,000 for it. This is the second time I am buying a human skull from him. I do not know where he got them from."

Olanrewaju, who is a mother of 2, was arrested due to her husband's connection to the illicit trade.

She said:

"I have been married to Juwon  for five years and we have two children. My husband is a herbalist but I didn't know he was dealing in human parts. I was arrested because my husband whom they came to arrest ran away.

The case is being investigated and the suspects will soon be charged for their crimes.

According to a Washington-based nonprofit organization - ALS Association -  that funds global research to find treatments and a cure for the disease - amyotrophic lateral sclerosis - it has received up to $41.8 million in donations from July 29 until August 21.

The group also says more than 739,000 new donors have given money to the association which is more than double the $19.4 million in total contributions the association received during the year that ended Jan. 31, 2013, according to a filing with the Internal Revenue Service.

Latest reports prove that close to 30,000 Americans now have A.L.S. The disease attacks nerve cells and ultimately leads to total paralysis, though the mind remains sharp.

Life expectancy is typically two to five years from the time of diagnosis. The exact cause has not yet been understood and there is no cure or treatment that stops or reverses the disease.

According to the ALS Association, One Food and Drug Administration-approved drug slows its progression, and other drugs are in currently clinical trials.

A woman in Ekiti is said to have lost her life after rumours spread that she had contracted Ebola.

The unfortunate victim showed symptoms of the disease and was thus rejected by 4 hospitals due to fear.

This was revealed by the Commissioner for Health, Professor Olusola Fasuba who said that the woman in question eventually collapsed at the State Ministry of Health and died.

The Commissioner warned citizens of the state to desist from branding people as Ebola patients as it could lead to the death of innocents who don't have the disease.

Fasuba stated further that other illnesses have similar symptoms as Ebola.

National Conference: Pres. Goodluck Jonathan Receives Confab Report

The report includes a recommendation for the creation of 18 new states 
The National Conference is officially over and 158 days after it was convened, President Goodluck Jonathan has received the report.

The document, which has 22 volumes and is 10,335 pages long, includes recommendations such as the creation of 18 additional states, part-time bi-cameral legislature at all levels, re-introduction of the old National Anthem and removal of the immunity clause for criminal offences among others.

President Jonathan expressed excitement that the confab had achieved its goals despite pessimism from critics.

He said further that the report would be tabled before the National Assembly and the Council of State and a mode of implementation would be discussed.

The National Conference was inaugurated on March 17, 2014 and it had 492 members.

Foreign Aid: US To Spend N2 Billion On Fight Against Ebola

The United States has said that the disease would be fought to the finish 
The fight against Ebola has intensified as the US plans to spend over $14.55 million (N2,354,917,650.71) on  curbing the disease.

This was disclosed by the United States Consul General, Jeffery Hawkins, yesterday, August 20, 2014 during a press conference held in Ikoyi, Lagos.

He said:

 "Since the Ebola out-break was first reported, United States Agency for International Development, USAID, alone, has committed $14.55 million to support the response.

"The US is also working with the World Health Organization, WHO, and other international partners to help the government of Nigeria, Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone to respond and contain the outbreak of the Ebola virus in West Africa."

"Full relevant US government agencies, including the Department of State, the Department of Health and Human Service, HHS, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention are increasing every possible form of assistance to the affected countries, their citizens and international organizations.

Chuka Umunna, a 35-year-old British born Nigerian, is said to have a fair shot at the title

About 6 years after Barack Obama broke a record by becoming the first black president of the United States, another black man is set to make history.

35-year-old Chuka Umunna was born in London to a Nigerian father, Bennett Umunna and an Irish mother, Patricia.

Umunna has been described as "Britain's Barack Obama" and is now being called "Britain's [future] first black Prime Minister".

The "unusually popular politician" became interested in the course when he visited Nigeria and saw the "extreme poverty" in the country.

Chuka is a member of the Labour party and could be the first black Prime Minister if he wins the majority out of the 560 seats in the House of Commons.

According to reports, he also enjoys the support and backing of former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair.

Chuka Umunna is currently representing Streatham in the UK Parliament.

Frank Mba has seized to be the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force as he has been redeployed to Lagos State as an Area Commander.

Mba who became the police spokesman in February 2012 will no doubt be remembered as one of the most articulate police spokesmen who worked tirelessly to give the police force a credible stand and a more approachable image.

In a letter of appreciation he sent out this morning, Mr  Mba who was made an Assistant Police Commissioner in June expressed his gratitude to the media and the Nigerian people for contributing to his successful tenure.

He is being replaced by the new Public Relations officer, DCP Emmanuel Ojukwu who until his latest appointment was the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Criminal Investigations Department at Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja. Ojukwu was also police PRO from December 2008 to October 2010.

#BringBackOurGirls: UK To Send 3 Jets To Join Search For Chibok Girls

The over 200 schoolgirls were kidnapped from Chibok in Borno about four months ago

The search for the Chibok girls continues as the United Kingdom has announced plans to send 3 warplanes to help find the missing girls.

Three Tornado GR4 jets belonging to Britain's Royal Air Force (RAF) will be sent to Nigeria to join the search.

The planes are said to be outfitted with surveillance equipment and will also help to track the movements of the Boko Haram sect.

Boko Haram has claimed responsibility for the girls' abduction and has made a series of statements on the issue over time.

The schoolgirls were kidnapped on April 14, 2014 and are their whereabouts are still unknown.

War Against Terror: US Donates Bomb Disposal Equipment To Nigeria

The equipment was received by the new Inspector General of Police in Abuja

The United States has contributed to the war against terror in Nigeria by donating bomb disposal equipment to the Police Force.

The equipment was handed over by the US Ambassador to Nigeria, James F. Entwistle and was received by the recently appointed Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP Suleiman Abba yesterday, August 20, 2014 in Abuja.

A statement to that effect reads:

The Inspector-General of Police, Ag. IGP Suleiman Abba NPM, mni, today, August 20, 2014 at Force Headquarters, Abuja, received the US Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, James F. Entwistle.

The US Ambassador congratulated the Ag. IGP on his new appointment as the Police Boss and thanked the Nigeria Police Force for its high level of co-operation and huge partnership with the US Embassy in Nigeria.

The Ambassador thereafter presented High tech Bomb disposal robots/equipment to the Nigeria Police Force. He also reassured the Ag. IGP that his country will continue to render relevant supports to the Force in the areas of training and security cooperation.

The IGP, while responding, appreciated the Ambassador's courtesy visit and thanked the US government for assisting the Nigeria Police Force in areas of investigation, management of scene of crime as well as position of equipment.

Describing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) executed by the Nigeria Police Force and the US government recently as a huge partnership that will improve and modernize Police training in Nigeria, the IGP restated his commitment to continue to drive reforms and transformation of the Force in order to reposition the Force for better service delivery and promised that the newly donated equipment would be put to effective use.

The items donated include robots and other high tech equipment to be used for bomb detection and detonation.

Insecurity: Boko Haram Attacks Police College In Borno

A group of the militants were said to have invaded the popular college in the Gwoza area

The town of Gwoza in Borno has again come under attack as Boko Haram insurgents stormed the town yesterday.

The heavily armed attackers invaded the Nigerian Police training college within the community.

The Boko Haram members reportedly arrived in five armored tanks that ahd earlier been snatched from the Nigerian army.

The girlfriend was angry because her partner wasn't giving her attention

A boy in China was publicly embarrassed when his girlfriend dragged him off a crowded train.

The girl was said to have gotten angry at her lover because he was too busy texting to pay her any attention.

When she told him to hand over the phone, he refused and this led her to drag him, kicking and screaming, off the train.

Passengers on the train couldn't believe what was happening and they took pictures of the incident.

The couple eventually settled their differences but not before the boyfriend cried some tears of shame.

US National Football League has asked Rihanna, Coldplay and Katy Perry if they'd be willing to offer a percentage of their future tour earnings or "some other type of financial contribution" to perform at the Super Bowl Halftime Show down in February.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the theory is that the exposure is so great, that artists should pay for some of it.

NFL's director of corporate communications, Joanna Hunter has not confirmed or denied the allegations but told TheWrap this week that, "Our only goal with the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show is to put on the best show for the millions of fans who watch," adding, "Our contract arrangements with artists are confidential."

Despite the fact that the specific dollar amount or percentage was not specified, and the NFL "got a chilly reception from the candidates' representatives," the Journal wrote.

Meanwhile reps of Katy Perry, Rihanna and Coldplay have made no comment yet.

Typically, the football league doesn't pay its halftime performers. But it does cover travel and production costs, which can carry a very hefty price tag. Super Bowl XLIX will kick off on Feb. 1, 2015 in Arizona.

Jackie Chan apologizes to the public over son's arrest for drug use

Award winning actor Jackie Chan has apologized to the public Wednesday morning over his son's shocking detention on drug charges in Beijing earlier this week,  saying he's ashamed and saddened.

The Hong Kong film superstar wrote on his microblog that his son, Jaycee Chan will not be spared. He would have to face the consequences of his actions, but that they would do so together.

He wrote: "Regarding this issue with my son Jaycee, I feel very angry and very shocked. As a public figure, I'm very ashamed. As a father, I'm heartbroken. Jaycee and I together express our deep apology to society and the public."

We earlier reported that 31-year-old Jaycee Chan and Taiwanese movie star Kai Ko, 23, were both detained last Thursday, becoming the latest high-profile celebrities to be ensnared in one of China's biggest anti-drug crackdowns in two decades.

According to the Police reports, both actors tested positive for marijuana and admitted using the drug, and that 100 grams (3.53 ounces) of it were taken from Chan's home.

Local media report that the senior Chan and Ko's father traveled to Beijing to meet with their sons this week. Funny enough, Jackie Chan was named by Beijing as an anti-drug ambassador back in 2009 and extending from his fame as an actor and singer, the elder Chan is a high-profile public figure in mainland China.

Chan wrote: "I hope all young people will learn a lesson from Jaycee and stay far from the harm of drugs. I say to Jaycee that you have to accept the consequences when you do something wrong. As your father, I'm going to face the road together with you."

Flavor Nabania Is Accused Of Bleaching

For all we know it could just be the instagram filter he uses, but its also likely that he is indeed bleaching.

Blogs and tabloids are currently circulating pictures of the Nigerian Highlife singer Flavor Nabania, claiming that he just might be bleaching his skin colour to a lighter tone.

While Bleaching and skin toning is not new among celebrities, especially among the ladies who upon reaching stardom, seem to refer a lighter skin color. Many like the Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh and the Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson have been put in the spotlight many times because of their skin colour.

However it would indeed be corny if a black male celebrity, especially one like flavour whose African roots go very deep is caught trying to change lighten his skin tone.

Comparing his present and past pictures, truly a noticeable difference in the skin colour could be seen as he looks lighter in the more recent ones. Conclusions however cannot be drawn yet because he just might be using the coco butter filter on instagram. The same one that caused Yvonne Nelson to be accused of bleaching in the first place.
